SPArty!

Last saturday we threw a surprise spa party for our dear mother at Suay Thai massage churva which was followed by a simple dinner at Max's restaurant just across the massage parlor. Since surprise nga ito, walang kaide-idea ang mudrak. And talagang sobrang napasaya namin sha.

The day started with me being very early in las pinas, yun palang, questionable na because I normally go there with lloyd ng sunday morning kase shempre binabantayan ko pa si lloyd friday and saturday nights, defense! hehehe. Tapos I contacted na mama's friend tita evelyn to remind her of the afternoon's party. Tapos my bro, renan took charge of the cake este cakes pala because he bought two - the classic chocolate cake with caramel filling and rocky road. While i went to suay thai to check if everything's all set na, the room, the available therapists, and the giveaways. I picked the bioessense goat milk soap and the anti-bacterial hand sanitizer, neatly packed in a brown paper bag with blue japanese paper in it, as my mom's thank-you-for-coming take home present.

At exactly four pm, mama's friends arrived na. They were all smiles and oh-so very excited about the whole surprise thing. I asked them to have their shower na and change into bathrobes as i went on my way to pick up mama. At home, mama was eating and was still in here polka dot house dress, told her na we have to go na because our appointment is at 4pm and its already 430 ... she was so lazy to move. I didnt know na she was thinking pala "Pag tanda mo pala ganito na, kahit saan ka na dalhin ng anak mo, wala ka ng choice kung hindi sumunod na lang, hindi ka naman maka-hindi kasi gusto ka lang naman nya paligayahin" So she started picking her clothes, because nga she was feeling very lazy about going to the spa, she picked out mga not so nice clothes of her. She was also thinking about my sister meg, who's still in the office.

So went. We passed by mini-stop so renan could get batteries for the digicam, and mama said, "Bakit may digicam pa? picture taking pa habang nagpapamasahe?" No one minded her.

Supposedly, mama's friends were to shout surprise! But when mama opened the curtain of the cubicle they're in, all of them yelled "Aaaaaahhhhhhh!" with matining voices ha ( hehehe). Mama was so stunned as in, napa-atras sha and it took her mga 10 seconds before she could close her mouth again. Then came her birthday cake, birthday song, and of course her birthday wish.

Hagikgik, bungisngis, and more hagikgikan the whole time they were having their massage. What an experience! What a day! yun lang daw ang nasabi ng mga friends nya. But the most touching one-liner, "mamamatay na lang ako, naranasan ko pa ito"
